Work seminar on Overseas Agricultural Science and Technology Demonstration Park

         On February 4th, Vice President Luo Jun presided over a summary seminar on the work of Overseas Agricultural Science and Technology Demonstration Park, discussing how to further improve the construction of Overseas Agricultural Science and Technology Demonstration Park of the university under the condition of normalized pandemic situation, and how to give full play to the supporting role of the demonstration park in boosting the benchmark construction of “Belt and Road” initiative. Leaders of International Cooperation and Exchange Office, Promotion Office, College of Agronomy, College of Horticulture, College of Life Science and other relevant departments, responsible experts from overseas demonstration parks and experts from national research centers attended the meeting.

        At the meeting, eight experts, Zhang Zhengmao, Han Qingfang, Hu Yingang, Feng Baili, and Guo Dongwei from College of Agronomy, Zhang Lixin from College of Life Science, Li Gaochao from college of Horticulture, and Ge Maosheng from College of Water Resources and Architectural Engineering, made their work reports on the progress of the demonstration park in 2020 and their work plan for 2021. The reports included the problems that needed to be solved urgently in actual work and suggestions for the future development of the construction of overseas demonstration parks to be put forward. Professor Zhu Yuchun of college of Economics and Management, Professor Hai Jiangbo of College of Agronomy, and experts from relevant departments of the Science and Technology Promotion Office, College of Agronomy, college of Horticulture, college of Life science and other departments provided suggestions on the construction of the demonstration park, and discussed problems existed in depth.

      After carefully listening to the speeches of the participants, Mr. Luojun highly affirmed the achievements of overseas demonstration parks in the past four years, and put forward five requirements for the further constructions and the influences of the demonstration parks. First, to fully recognize the significance of the construction of demonstration park to the school’s “double first-class” development and the world granary; Second, the strategy of annual work plan shall be emphasized and the key points of construction shall be highlighted in terms of demonstration park construction mode, scientific research cooperation, talent training, team building, and work group promotion. Third, to give full play to the role of the Silk Road Agricultural Education Technology Innovation Alliance and the Shanghai Cooperation Agricultural Technology Exchange and Training Demonstration Base, strengthen contacts with foreign partners, and explore various forms of the way of communication to ensure the continuous line of cooperation and exchange; Fourth, to higlight the awareness of property rights protection and clarify the ownership of property rights; Fifth, to strengthen coordination and cooperation for the construction of demonstration parks to provide various services for the construction of demonstration parks.
