Promoting Cooperation in Agricultural Science and Technology with Pakistan Energetically

To response to the national "One Belt and One Way" initiative, and to further strengthen scientific research cooperation with universities along the Silk Road, Zhang Lixin, director of the Silk Road (Yangling) biological health industry alliance, Professor of life sciences, Du Shiping, deputy director of the science and technology extension office, and the international cooperation and exchange office, went to Pakistan from April 15th to 19th to actively promote the agricultural and technical cooperation .

During the visit, the delegation visited six universities and scientific research institutes, and held talks with relevant leaders and researchers of six institutions to implement scientific and technological innovation in agricultural education along the Silk Road. Under the framework of the alliance, extensive exchanges have been made in promoting the construction of the China-Brazil Agricultural Biological Resources Research Center, establishing a student base for joint graduate education and a demonstration base for bio-health agriculture.

At University of Lahore , the delegation visited the school's functional laboratories and agricultural demonstration parks. Professor Muhammad Abdul Raoof, the president of the school, and other professors exchanged views with the delegation on the preparation of the joint laboratory and its future development direction, scientific research and personnel training. In addition, the University of Lahore has awarded Professor Zhang Lixin an Honorary Professor's Certificate in recognition of his contribution to substantive cooperation with the University of Lahore. At the University of Bahaddin Zakaria, the delegation visited the wheat demonstration garden, the joint laboratory and the demonstration field, and had an in-depth conversation with the president of the University and other leaders on the application for membership in the China-Pakistan Agricultural Biological Resources Research Center (Bentan).
