Wu Pute met with Dejan Yaksic, President of the University of Novi Sad in Serbia

On April 22, President Wu Pute met with President Dejan Yaksic of Novi Sad University in Serbia at the Exchange Center. Vice-President Luo Jun participated in the meeting.

Wu introduced the history of NWAFU and its general situation to the guests. He said that the Northwest A&F  University shoulders the national mission of supporting and leading the development of modern agriculture in arid and semi-arid areas, and that there are great potentials for mutual cooperation in the field of agriculture. NWAFU actively responds to president Xi Jinping's initiative of "One Belt and One Road" and initiates the establishment of the Silk Road Agricultural Education and technology Innovation Alliance. Three league forums have been held so far. Last year, the third session of the forum and the League Council were successfully held in Serbia. Wu Pute sincerely invited Dejan Yaksic to the Fourth Forum and Alliance Council at
Uniwersytet Przyrodniczy w Poznaniu held in September this year.

Dejan Yaksich thanked Wu for inviting him to participate in the relevant forums. He said that the University of Novi Sad ranked second in Serbia, mainly focus on agriculture. He hopes to strengthen cooperation with NWAFU in the field of agriculture and personnel training so as to benefit the people of both countries.

During the visit, Deyang Yaksich visited the International College, Grassland Institute, Economic and Management College, Drought Research Institute and the State Key Laboratory of Adversity Biology in Dry Areas. He had a thorough investigation of NWAFU’s professional and scientific research, and proposed further cooperations.
