International Symposium on Green Development and Win-win Cooperation of Countries along the Silk Road was held in NWAFU

From May 11 to 14, an International Symposium sponsored by the Silk Road Agricultural Education and Research Innovation Alliance and Kazakhstan Research Center of NWAFU on green development and win-win cooperation of countries along the Silk Road was held in NWAFU. More than ten experts and scholars from Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Serbia and Uzbekistan, as well as Tarim University and NWAFU, were invited to give special presentations. More than 100 teachers and students from relevant colleges and departments participated in the conference.

Professor Luo Jun, Vice President of NWAFU, and  Academician Nikolay Goncharov, Institute of Cytology and Genetics, Siberian Branch of Russian Academy of Sciences, and Professor Wei Feng, Director of Kazakhstan Research Center of NWAFU, delivered speeches at the opening ceremony. Domestic and foreign experts show concerns for the wheat and legume crop heritage breeding. Reports were delivered on the value assessment of sustainable development, development of agricultural products trade along the New Silk Road, Sino-Kazakhstan cooperation in agricultural science and technology, and green development of agriculture in China.

The meeting brought together experts from universities and scientific research institutions from five countries along the Silk Road to discuss the latest research results of cooperation in the fields of social and economic development, modern agricultural development and scientific, technological and humanistic development of countries along the Silk Road. It provided new ideas for inspiring bilateral and multilateral cooperation and was of great significance for promoting the realization of the win-win goal of green development and cooperation in neighboring countries.

 

On May 11th, at the invitation of Shaanxi Provincial Department of Education, eight foreign guests from five countries along the Silk Road attended the opening ceremony of the Silk Road Education Cooperation Exchange as one of the supporting activities of the "Silk Road Education Cooperation Exchange". NWAFU arranged the exhibition, focusing on "Silk Road Agricultural Education Science and Technology Innovation Alliance" and related work of foreign students. The leaders of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange of the Ministry of Education and Shaanxi Education Department came to the exhibition and affirmed the work of the alliance. During the meeting, NWAFU communicated with the host countries on cooperation matters.
