The Delegation of Sumy Regional State of Ukraine Visited NWAFU

On May 14, Ms. Natalia Libed, Assistant Governor of Sumy, Ukraine, and Professor Victor Gebanez, Director of Northeast Agricultural Research Institute of National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine, paid a visit to NWAFU.

Vice President Luo Jun met the delegation at the Exchange Center and introduced the basic situation and development process of NWAFU. He said that the friendship between China and Ukraine has a long history as well as a good interaction basis. In response to "One Belt and One Way" initiative, NWAFU set up the " Silk Road Agricultural Education and Research Innovation Alliance" in 2016, welcoming universities and research institutes in Ukraine to join the alliance as an opportunity to establish cooperative relations in scientific research and educational field.

Ms. Natalia Libed said that she was honored to visit NWAFU. She introduced the basic situation of Sumy state. As the oldest city in northeastern Ukraine, it is the educational, cultural and scientific research center of Ukraine.The tertiary education system is well developed. Sumy National University and Sumy National Agricultural University have trained a large number of professionals. Through this visit, the closer cooperation in the field of agriculture, exchange programs as well as scientific research can be expected.

During the period of visit, the delegation visited the agricultural science and technology extension exhibition as well.
