As CHEN Yulin, the vice president, emphasized that the “Silk Road” project, guided by the needs of the agriculture-related international talents, aims at cultivating aspirants with firm ideals and beliefs, solid professional foundation, strong practical abilities and “foreign language + professional” abilities to work in countries along the “Silk Road” countries, multinational companies and scientific research institutions. He also stressed that a joint tutor team mechanism shall be established for talents training. It is necessary to improve the awareness of internationalization of students, broadening their overseas horizons. Meanwhile, to build a curriculum system that meets the needs of talents and to construct a scientific research, practical exercise and international exchange platform are of equal importance to the training. Food and lodging is the third issue to be considered so that students would have no worry in their studies. All these are crucial to training of international high-level talents, establishing the benchmark of “excellent agriculture and forestry talent training” and boosting the development of the “Belt and Road” iniative.
