Opening of the 2021 General Assembly of the Permanent Council and Cooperation Forum of the Silkroad Agricultural Education and Research Innovation Alliance

On the afternoon of September 16, the 2021 Cooperation Forum and Standing Council of the Silk Road Agricultural Education Science and Technology Innovation Alliance was held online and offline. Wu Pute put forward hopes for the work of the Alliance in the following three aspects. First, he hops that all representatives could take a long-term view based on the current situation and take the charter of the Alliance as the guide to enhance understanding, expand consensus, deepen cooperation and jointly promote the work of the Alliance. Second, he hops that all council members could carry forward the Silk Road spirit, focus on the development of the Alliance, promote close cooperation among members, play a leading role in demonstration, and strive to expand the effectiveness of cooperation. Third, he hops that all members will actively respond to the difficulties and challenges in the post-COVID-19 era, strengthen multilateral and bilateral communication and consultation, and continue to promote the progress and development of agriculture, education, science and technology in countries and regions along the BELT by building cooperation platforms, innovating cooperation mechanisms and strengthening resource sharing.

The conference was sponsored by the Secretariat of the Alliance, and it was organized by Mongolian University of Life Sciences. Liu Xuebo, director of the Office of the Alliance Secretariat, reported the work carried out by the Alliance in 2021 in personnel training, scientific research, technology promotion, cultural exchanges and think tank construction, and put forward the work plan for next period. In the conference, the 14 council members held in-depth discussions on the work plan of the Alliance and suggestions for the further development of the Alliance. Meeting decided to receive the Russian Irkutsk National Agricultural University, Ukraine National Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Institute of Crop Planting, Kazakhstan Kustanay Regional University, Qingdao Agricultural University, China International Agricultural Investment co., LTD., for the new members. So far, there are 95 members of 18 countries in the alliance.

Then, 2021 Silk Road Agricultural Education, Science and Technology Innovation Alliance Cooperation Forum officially opens. President Wu Pute, Kheruuga.T, the president of Mongolian University of Life Science, Nkh-Amgalan L, Minister of Mongolia Education Science, Batsuuri G, deputy minister of department of Mongolian food and agriculture and light industry, and Tlektes Yespolov, president of Kazakhstan National Agricultural University delivered a speech. Leaders from 17 universities including Xinjiang Agricultural University, Southwest University, Kazakhstan Safran University of Agricultural Science and Technology, and Xizang Agricultural and Animal Husbandry College attended the meeting.

On behalf of the university and the Alliance, Wu Pute extended a warm welcome to nearly 200 guests from 47 units from 12 countries, representatives of alliance members and new members. He said that over the past five years since the establishment of the ALLIANCE, all members have been united, trusted and concentrated, cooperated in personnel training and academic research and achieved fruitful results. In the past year, the secretariat of the alliance overcome the outbreak of COVID-19, has carried out a series of work and made great achievement in the countries along the BELT. Wu hopes that the alliance continues to grow stronger through more practical work, and all members could work together to conduct innovative cooperation projects to promote the agricultural modernization development of countries along the BELT, and provides strength and wisdom for agricultural modernization worldwide.

Dj, vice-president of Krygyz National Agricultural University, Gantulga.G, vice-president of Mongolian University of Life Science, Yuri Tibetz, vice-president of Belarus National Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and Tian Yike, vice-president of Qingdao Agricultural University, respectively reported on the topic of "Agricultural Development, Science and Innovation along the BELT".
